Now!here!this! Ōtautahi 2023 Festival Lineup Announced
Curated this year by Anita Clark (Motte) and Rory Dalley (I.R.D.), the Audio Foundation's Now!here!this! festival of experimental music / sound returns to the garden city for a very special Ōtautahi edition, happening from 12th to 15th October. Bringing you a bountiful programme of 'Urgent Sound, Adventurous Music & Deep Listening', Now!here!this! 2023 hosts a wide-ranging lineup of innovative Cantabrian sonic practitioners and guests from around Aotearoa, with an emphasis this year on unique live collaborations "exploring the art of spontaneous creation".
Visitors to Ōtautahi for the four day event include i.e crazy and Kraus from Tāmaki Makaurau (both of whom have recently released superb new albums), Riki Pirihi (Cave Circles) and Jonny Marks (The All Seeing Hand) from Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Ōtepoti's Jackson Harry, Whanganui electronic producer / performer Ludus and Sri Lankan artist Sum Suraweera. They're joining an absolutely cracking selection of convention-defying local artists including Roy Montgomery, Greg Malcolm, Jenny Ward, Gemma Syme, Luke Wood, Ryan Chin, Taipua Adams, Joe McCallum, and I better stop there or I'll be naming everyone on the bill — which you can feast your eyes and ears upon with each day's timetable info below...
