Watch Danica Bryant's Video For 'Libra'

Aotearoa’s rising pop star Danica Bryant today shares the astrology-inspired video for her new single 'Libra'. Our fortunes blossom with this visual story of Bryant showing us how to vanquish the bad vibes of fake friends who excuse toxicity with astrology. Directed by Caitlin Robinson over two days and made with the support of NZ On Air, Bryant cuts ties and tarot cards sent from this mystery Libra, opting for a stellar dance sesh instead. Kaylib McCartney expertly directs the photography and editing of the clip’s starry glamour, which was inspired by Y2K fashion, and the vogue of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. For me, I was reminded of Regina George writing in her burn book in the iconic 2004 film Mean Girls.

"I wanted the 'Libra' music video to tell a story about someone making judgements about others unfairly, based on their star sign," says Bryant. "In the video, my character receives the lyrical 'prescribed future' in the form of tarot cards from a mystery Libra, but she decides to take that future back into her own hands by coming up with her own tarot response and satirical song."
