Watch Molly Lewis' Video For New Single 'Lounge Lizard'

Set to enchant Tāmaki Makaurau audiences at The Others Way Festival on 1st December, Los Angeles’ whistling marvel Molly Lewis ensnares us with new single ‘Lounge Lizard’. Recorded at California’s Diamond West Records, the sultry track teases the Australian-born artist’s just-announced debut album On the Lips, out via Jagjaguwar on 16th February (preorder HERE). The elegant percussion and sexy wahs of ‘Lounge Lizard’ slithers into our ears as well as the parlour of an individual played by Richard Cerqueira, who puts on Lewis’ record in the accompanying video directed by Ambar Navarro. Inspired by Hollywood jazz clubs, the music of Italian cinema and Julie London’s appearances in the 1956 classic film The Girl Can’t Help It, Lewis pops up in surprising places like Cerqueira's coffee mug and bathtub, serenading with the alluring sax of Leland Whitty and her signature whistling.

There’s a good chance Lewis’ siren-like sounds have already reached local listeners during their own lounging time, as the artist's whistling was showcased in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie score with 'Meeting Ruth' (a collaboration between Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt).
