Mess Esque (Aus) New Zealand Tour Supports Announced
Less than one week to go before Mess Esque — the project of Mick Turner (Dirty Three) and Helen Franzmann (McKisko) — cross the ditch for their debut Aotearoa tour. Attracting acclaim from the likes of Jeff Tweedy (Wilco) for the hushed aural meditations of 2021 self-titled debut album (via Milk! Records / Drag City), recorded while both artists were based separately in Melbourne and Brisbane during the lockdown era, Mess Esque have since toured with Kurt Vile, Big Thief and Will Oldham (as members of his band). Performing here with live bandmates Keeley Young (bass / vocals) and Greg Cairns (drums), Mess Esque have revealed a bevy of exceptionally talented local special guests, including Pumice, Blue Divers, Tessa De Lyon, Timothy Blackman, and Francisca Griffin & The Bus Shelter Boys. Also playing as part of the knockout Port Noise 2024 lineup in Lyttelton, do not delay in nabbing tickets for these intimate capacity Mess Esque headline shows...
