Watch Grecco Romank's Video For '2 Hot 2 Hunt'

Chris Cudby / Tuesday 28th May, 2024 9:08AM

Finalists for Te Manu Taki Whanokē o te Tau / Best Alternative Artist at this Thursday's Aotearoa Music Awards and 2023 SRN number one act, there's no doubt Grecco Romank are deep in the zone right now. The Tāmaki Makaurau "Dungeon Rave" trio of Billie Fee, Mikey Sperring and Damian Golfinopoulos pen a visual love letter of sorts to their home town in the brand spanking clip for latest single '2 Hot 2 Hunt', inviting viewers to participate in a "game" teetering nightmarishly close to everyday reality.

A cursed intersection of demonic furry abduction, dating apps and Predator-like VR first person shooters directed by Job Club, with animation by Josh Harris-Harding and opening pixel animation by Esther Saggese, the video incorporates detailed digital recreations of Tāmaki's central city squalor. One of Aotearoa's very best live acts, Grecco Romank will be tearing it up at the all-star, multi-venue JUNK festival next Friday. Once again, a blanket content warning: Grecco Romank video applies for '2 Hot 2 Hunt'...

“I went on Google Maps and took a bunch of low resolution screenshots of bits of K Road and Sandringham, and I made a bunch of detritus with Google Images.” — Josh Harris-Harding
