Finalists for the 2024 Taite Music Prize last month, Polynesian metal masters Shepherds Reign reemerge with a suitably epic coda of corts to their 2023 album Ala Mai. Translating to "Awaken" in Samoan, the soaring title track receives new visuals directed by Bahador Borhani and made with support from NZ On Air — a majestically cinematic, star-gazing "journey to awaken the world to the spirit of Polynesia and inspire peace and resilience".
