Watch Soft Bait's Video For New Single 'No Bad Days'
Tāmaki post-punks on the rise Soft Bait barrel into our Friday with 'No Bad Days', their first official single since 2022's standout debut album Plot Points. Recorded with De Stevens at Roundhead Studios, the new track's locomotive energy conveys the down-the-line theme of Joshua Hunter's monomaniacal vocals — considering a disaffected, endless day-to-day existence, where emotional highs / lows blend together into a greyed-out, flavourless slush.
The accompanying video is even less assuring — a basement-dwelling, pastel-hued, rictus grin fever vision, dreamed up by Sports Team and made with support from NZ On Air. Now featuring Keria Paterson from K M T P on bass following the departure abroad of Ezra Simons (Earth Tongue), Soft Bait will be tearing it up in celebration of their latest release at Whammy Bar on 27th July. Hit play below, preorder the swish 'No Bad Day' t-shirt / poster HERE and head along...
"No Bad Days is a song about the desire that we have for things to always go our way. The idea of that in practice would make life repetitive, monotonous, and boring with no balance to tell the good times from the bad."
