Watch Chris Stapp's Loves Ugly Children Pop-Up Comic Video - Auckland Show

Aotearoa's unstoppable force that is artist / musician / actor / director Chris Stapp (Deja Voodoo, The Killer Goodlooks, Back Of The Y) has shared an absolutely mind-blowing visual experience over on thekillergoodlooks Instagram page, spreading the word about tonight's Loves Ugly Children reunion show at Tāmaki Makaurau's The Mothership. I'm not even sure what kind of style of animation / puppetry to call this — pop-up comic / 'gekimation'? Either way, Stapp has put a shit-tonne of work into retelling the tale of the distant time when he and his mate Andy journeyed to the garden city and witnessed "the greatest fucken live band in the entire history of Christchurch music". The results are a glory to behold. Smash play on the embed link below (Instagram embeds suck) and don't miss Loves Ugly Children's first Auckland gig since the late nineties (!), with special guests Bloodbags and DJ Pennie Raven Black...

"Got excited about Loves Ugly Children playing on Thursday and thought I'd draw a comic about the first time I saw them. Anyway that was weeks ago, the gig is tomorrow, just finished this fuckin thing now gotta get some sleep. Enjoy x"
