Spotlight: Asian Foundation Festival at Ponsonby Social Club ft. Tei., Mark Bulos, Mismatch, thrillpvck thari, Valere + more.
Starting this Friday, Asian Foundation Festival spotlights and celebrates Tāmaki Makaurau's Asian music communities with a month-long series of live events, hosted at Ponsonby Social Club. The multi-genre lineup includes performances by Filipino-born jazz / city pop / dream-pop voyager Mark Bulos (citing Yellow Magic Orchestra, Cocteau Twins, Prince as inspirations) with band, indie pop-rock Mismatch, alt-R&B artist Tei., boom-bap / hip-hop artist thrillpvck thari (For The Thrill Music Group), and R&B / soul trailblazer Valere. Not officially part of the festival but certainly fitting the brief, Japanese beatmaker / producer Grooveman Spot will play a special Sunday session at Ponsonby Social Club, spinning tunes with guests on 6th October (grab tickets HERE).
