Pining Radiata 'Not Awake' Single Release Tour Announced

Pining Radiata sound appropriately autumnal on their latest single 'Not Awake', pushing back against anti-social, energy-sapping urges with spiky brambles of guitar and drums. The Te Papaioea shoegaze / slowcore collective's first release since 2024's standout Skin EP, Pining Radiata are channeling this outburst of activity into a five date tour next month, taking them all about Te Ika-a-Māui with special guests along the way — intersecting for a couple of dates with HOIHOI's tour. Lower North Island alternative rock quartet Pining Radiata pick up where their 2024 debut EP left off with a blistering new single, ‘Not Awake’. Harnessing crunchy guitars, fuzzed out Fender Rhodes and soaring harmonies, the band demonstrate their louder edge with this 2-minute, 2-chord anthem. The track was engineered and mixed by Harry Lilley at Palmerston North’s The Stomach in March 2025, with additional recording completed in Wellington with Fraser Williams and is the first single from an album due for release later in the year.

Hitting the road in June, Pining Radiata are visiting Wellington and Tauranga and joining forces with Christchurch’s HOIHOI to play regular haunts Whanganui and Palmerston North. Be sure to catch these live shows to hear the forthcoming album tracks in full swing.
