An emerging Aotearoa super-combo featuring members of Pluto, Bleeders, Shitripper, Fever Lake and Crap Date, Erase Everything sound sure-footed as they unveil their second single ahead of launch gigs at Kirikiriroa's mighty Last Place and at Morningside's cosy 605. Smouldering avant-rock is the order of the day on 'New Year New Idea', serpentine bass and sparkling guitars entwine and unfold a fuzz-bleary dreamscape, as Angelo Munro croons the rueful mantra, "We only have ourselves to blame." "New Year New Idea is about what’s happening to Mother Earth. The destruction humans are causing to the planet and the selfish nature we have to live in our own bubbles and not having to think about the impact our decisions make on others.

All my songs mean something to me but I don’t plan ahead and decide ‘I’m gonna write a song about this subject’. I just have values and things to say and they come out organically and unplanned. ‘We only have ourselves to blame’ came as a hook as the song sounded sad to me and it’s hard to not be sad when you look around… It’s just saying ‘don’t blame your neighbour, blame yourself.’ We’re all consumers, none of us are perfect." - Angelo Munro
