Lachie Hayes Touring New Album 'Subsatellite'
Ollieing into the local media spotlight with his new album Subsatellite, Southland songwriter Lachie Hayes isn't resting on his laurels, in fact he'll soon be venturing up north for a four date spring tour. Produced by the expert ear of Lyttelton icon Delaney Davidson, Hayes leads listeners through an endearingly rockin' selection of alt-country and blues, proudly repping "love, loss, and life" off the beaten track over eleven big-hearted tunes. Hayes and band will treat gig-goers in Auckland, Hamilton, Helensville and Leigh to songs from Subsatellite next month, warming up with a headline date tonight at Dunedin's The Duck alongside The Tokanui Chainsaw Massacre — here are the details...
"It’s simple to look at a small, distant world and say there’s nothing there, that it’s a barren place with nothing to offer. But we know better. We may be far from the bright lights, a small spot on the map, but it’s filled with character, creativity, and a unique soul. This whole album, came from that feeling. I am a subsatellite, but I have wheels within wheels, I am more than meets the eye. This album tells the story of how small towns are more than barren worlds. We’re alive, we’re ambitious, and we’re ready to prove it."
