Listen to Late To Chelsea's Debut Album 'Some Good Times'
Tāmaki Makaurau's Late to Chelsea have been bringing the ruckus for over half a decade, from brutally stinging statement of intent 'Fuck Wasps' to their latest student radio hit 'Lost and Confused', so the time is ripe for Big J, Smashton, Dirty Dave, and JMAC to gift fans their debut studio opus Some Good Times. LTC weave together big fuzz-punk energy, an infectious love for surf-rock licks, a fairly dubious love for funk-rock raps, and a hella cheeky 'tude into an eleven track lore-packed tapestry.
Late to Chelsea transcend their sometimes bashful irreverence with a knack for ear-worms which ought to be the envy of many fellow musos. Witness for example, the heartfelt power-pop reflections of the title track, the scorching heavy riff onslaught of 'For the Grave' and the relatably tear-jerking 'Waiwera (I Miss The Hot Pools)'. They'll be delivering even more good times at this Saturday's release rager at Big Fan, salute the gang and get amongst...
"If you’d have told us 6 years ago when we started this silly little project that we’d be releasing a full length LP… we would have laughed in your face. To be fair, if you told us that now, we’d probably also laugh in your face.
Words can’t describe how we feel to be finally putting this out to the world — so here’s the word we’d use: “HAHDNDIDVEJAHSGWHWIOAISYDGEJW”
It’s impossible to thank everyone we’d need to in a post to social media, so for those of you who know who you are, thank you. And most importantly, thank you to YOU. Thank you for coming to our gigs, buying our merch and listening to our silly songs. To be able to connect with people through our music is just… woah. Come to our gig on Saturday, crack a few beers, and let’s celebrate.
A special thanks to our producer extraordinaire Timothy Banks for making our ideas an actual thing people can go and listen to.
We really hope you all enjoy listening to this record as we did making it.
And btw, EVEN MORE big things coming!!!!"
