Listen to Dropper's Debut Album 'Be A Little Kinder'

Dropper are the recently united four-piece of Jude Savage and Carlos Bellamy — both of Te Whanganui-a-Tara's much-loved Bleeding Star, whose guitarist Otis Hill passed away last year at age 17 — bassist Toby Gracewood-Easther (Cold Sweats), and drummer Walter Martin. Drawing their name from Bleeding Star's 2023 final album, Dropper's debut long player Be A Little Kinder carries the torch for emotively charged power-pop, injected with on-a-dime hardcore punk punchiness and painterly distorto-fried textures. Like an island of calm in a maelstrom of emotion, electronic artist Eveline Breaker lends celestial vocal tones to early standout 'Pinwheel', while hook-rammed recent single 'You Face Says it All' feels like a low key local classic of 2025.

Empathetic and anthemic in equal measure, these songs are sure to sound gigantic when Dropper let rip alongside fellow travellers Model Home, Yon Loader and Pining Radiata in Whanganui this Friday, plus at Tāmaki Makaurau's multi-venue The Others Way Festival this Saturday. Core members of the capital's gigging community, Dropper are also playing a special event to raise funds for Cruelly's debut album, taking place "somewhere in Te Aro" on 13th December...
