Marsha & Velveteen Touring Nationwide This Summer

One of the many great things about Aotearoa is you can polish off a whole nationwide tour in just two weekends and — with a bit of savvy coordination — not even have to skip any work days. Both distinguishing themselves with standout releases in 2025, Ōtautahi post-punks Marsha and alt-rockers Velveteen are uniting for a four stop summer tour (bleeding into early March) of our major centres, hitting Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Tāmaki Makaurau, Ōtepoti and their garden city hometown, with top notch guests in each city.

Marsha's spiky latest single 'Pemmican' is spotlighted in our all-killer UTR 2025 End Of Year Playlist, and when Velveteen's debut album Heavy Machinery launched last March, we gushed "(it) offers a magnificently maximal vision of emotive alt-rock / industrial / grunge that would do our eyeliner-loving '90s / '00s forefathers proud." Ōtautahi post punks Marsha and alt-rock outfit Velveteen are taking their loud and energetic live shows across the country. At the end of the 2025/26 summer, the two bands are taking on four shows in Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch, and Dunedin. Joining the tour are some of Aotearoa's finest bands around including Cruelly, Back to the Hillside, Pearly*, and Gracie Snow.

Marsha are Christchurch post punk, leaning on elements of indie and experimental rock. Taking influence from bands such as SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE, The Smiths, and Black Country, New Road. Following a successful 2025, Marsha are warming up for another big year.

Velveteen is the solo project of Jai Tudor Oakley based in Christchurch. It blends alternative rock, punk, and electronica with strong melodic hooks.
