TONIC002: Insula x Niph (AUS) Te-Ika-a-Māui Tour Starts This Week

Champions of boundary-pushing sonics in Aotearoa's clubs and adjacent zones, Te Whanganui-a-Tara's TONIC collective are toasting their first anniversary and expanding their scope with a five date tour starting this Friday. They're hosting Australian electronic producer Insula, performing with visual artist Niph and an impeccably curated lineup of local special guests — including TONIC co-founders Ludus and RIZZO (aka womaninSTEM), Hasji, Kraus, Body Beat Ritual, Synthetic Children, Ritual Heaps and Fox Moss — in Tāmaki Makaurau, Whanganui, Te Papaioea and at the capital's Pyramid Club, plus a Saturday performance at CubaDupa festival. "Insula operates at the intersection of brutal electronics, live violin, and real-time audiovisual systems. Built from resynthesis, distortion, and physical performance, the project treats the body as both instrument and controller. Recent shows expand into live collaboration with visual artist Niph, forming immersive environments where sound and image evolve together in tightly coupled feedback.

Their recent EP HYPOMOD is a sonic feat and we can’t wait to hear it in action alongside Niph visuals for the first time in Aotearoa."
