Already a mandatory occasion, the "special musical guests" for the The Clean: In the Dreamlife You Need a Rubber Soul book launch at Ōtepoti Dunedin's Pearl Diver on 8th April turned out to be... The Clean! Celebrating the publication of Richard Langston's new in-depth oral history of the pioneering Flying Nun Records group, attendees were evidently stoked by a surprise live set by David Kilgour and Robert Scott, who played seven songs by The Clean on the night — with Josh Nicholls (Dale Kerrigan / Pearly) filling in on the drumstool for Hamish Kilgour (who passed in 2022).
