Last here in 2023 celebrating three decades as a group, Strung Out are revisiting another career milestone with a return trip to Aotearoa New Zealand this September. One of the very first signees to Fat Mike's massively influential Fat Wreck Chords, the California punk legends are saluting the 30th anniversary of their 1996 sophomore album Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues with a full-blown nationwide tour of our shores.

Devotees can yowl along with such classic fist-pumpers as 'Bring Out Your Dead', 'Firecracker' and 'Solitaire' in Tāmaki Makaurau, Kirikiriroa, Te Whanganui-a-Tara and Ōtautahi, when Strung Out play Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues in full alongside selections from their mighty songbook — no doubt including tunes from 2024's Dead Rebellion (their tenth studio album). Helmed by veteran members Jason Cruz, Rob Ramos and Chris Aiken, with recent recruits Daniel Blume and Derik Envy, salute the unwavering punk rock force that is Strung Out at these very special gigs, brought to you by Sticky Fingaz Tour Management. These shows are likely to sell out, so move fast...

Press release:

Strung Out tore through NZ in 2023, and you lapped it up.

You loved them, and they loved you—so much so that they’re returning this September for a full-blown New Zealand tour, hitting four locations across both the North and South Island.

And this time, they’re bringing something special.

Marking the 30th anniversary of Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues, the band are set to play the critically acclaimed, classic album in full. One of punk’s holy grails, it’s fast, ferocious, and precise—a record that helped define the genre and influenced generations of bands that followed.

Released in 1996, Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues pushed the boundaries of the genre—faster, sharper, and more intricate than anything that came before.

Three decades on, it still hits hard, and hearing it played live, front to back, is an experience no self-respecting punk fan can miss.

Hailing from Simi Valley, California, Strung Out are long-standing punk rock royalty and one of Fat Wreck Chords’ defining “big four.” With decades of touring under their belts, they have a proven track record of igniting crowds and delivering high-octane, full-throttle punk shows.

Expect a night of relentless energy: razor-sharp riffs, pounding drums, and shout-along choruses delivered with force.

This is controlled chaos at its best: sweat-soaked rooms, ringing ears, and intensity that pulls you right in.

Last time Strung Out were here, shows sold out. This run will be no different.

Don’t sleep on it, or you’ll miss it.
