Tess Liautaud Shares New Single 'Jolie Louise'
Born and raised as an American in Paris, France, and these days a key member of Canterbury's world-class folk-country community, Tess Liautaud celebrates her multi-cultural heritage with a new cover of Daniel Lanois' 1989 hit 'Jolie Louise'. Sung in both French and English, Liautaud and her band inject more energy and colour to the boppy rustic tune with fiddle, pedal steel, banjo, double bass, acoustic jangle, and what sounds to these (often deceived) ears to be lively harmonica. First released the same year Liautaud was born, she's teed up a 'Jolie Louise' launch show with band at Lyttelton Coffee Company on 27th June, joined by special guests Southriver. Listen up and head along...
"I was born in Paris. I’ve sung in English on every record I’ve ever made, until this one. Jolie Louise felt like the right song to finally cross that line."
