Modern day Popeyes of our nation's cultural capital, Wellington Sea Shanty Society are weighing anchor and navigating their way to ports all around Aotearoa New Zealand this winter. The ocean-going ensemble of Lake Davineer, Vorn dont Le Père Était Marin, Young Nic, Tomas el Largo, and Louis Quatorze are in the middle of a launch tour for their new Never Mind the Rowlocks, Here's the Wellington Sea Shanty Society EP, a rollicking six shanty collection with a distinctly local flavour, which you can holler along with below Swabs and landlubbers alike can catch the crew this week at Point Chevalier Sailing Club, Leigh Sawmill Cafe and Calliope Sea Scouts Hall — back home in the coming weeks for a two day residency at Breaker Bay Community Hall...
