Dateline Announce Auckland Headline Show with The Sour & BUB
It feels like the world is finally waking up to Dateline. Helmed by Pōneke-based songwriter Katie Everingham and now in their official 3.0 iteration, Dateline have included amongst their ranks at various points members of such significant Aotearoa combos as The Beths, Dick Move, Revulva, French For Rabbits, Hans Pucket, BUB, Lips, and undoubtedly more. Tour mates with The Beths last year, when they wowed crowds in the UK and EU, Dateline are soon returning to the northern hemisphere following the launch of their reliably catchy and emotionally fraught new single 'Meltdown', produced by Ladyhawke.
Where is all this preamble leading? Well, before Everingham and new bandmate Bob Bruce (of Dateline 1.0 and Sea Views) set sail for their first ever UK headline tour, they've locked in an all-ages Tāmaki Makaurau warm-up gig at Big Fan in Morningside on 22nd August. Dateline will be joined for the occasion by The Sour and BUB, and attendees have the option of supporting with some extra dosh to help ensure the duo's upcoming adventure is a smooth one. Here are the details...
"After teetering on the verge of something resembling creative burnout and being told by many people to maybe have a small break, Dateline's Katie decided to book an international headlining tour instead! What a fool. Join her and some of Tāmaki Makarau's best musicians for a night of ROCK AND ROLL, FUN, MORE ROCK AND ROLL and MORE FUN, and help her make some cash to get the band around the UK this September.
Supported by LEGENDS The Sour & BUB, It'll be a night to remember and honestly I think you would regret missing it. No pressure. But I have heard they're all really good and lovely."
