OvO (Italy) Debut Aotearoa New Zealand Tour Announced

Italian genre-obliterators OvO are the second overseas act to be touring our shores courtesy of Your Enabler Presents in 2026, following Brazilian grindcore duo TEST's crowd-pleasing run of shows last month. Forging elements of experimental rock, scorched industrial and bone-crushing doom into their own thrilling sound universe, the duo of Stefania Pedretti and Bruno Dorella have been praised by Decibel as “a David Lynch dance party” and The Quietus for "dark and extreme music meant to be enjoyed."

Veterans of the international DIY noisy underground for more than 25 years, OvO have an eight shows all around the North Island Te Ika-a-Māui teed up for October, commencing in Hawke's Bay and concluding with a must-attend HallOvOween party in Tauranga. Your Enabler laid out his raison d'etre for inviting OvO to perform in Aotearoa for the first time...

"For many of us, music can be like a drug. At first everything and anything feels and is beyond amazing, but over time as our consumption increases, this magical euphoria wears off to a hollow and crushing emptiness. The now discerning music addict desperately searches for that new thing that will make them feel the high that they once had. But it gets harder to again feel this way. Until they stumble across something so unique, original, and idiosyncratic they cannot help but feel giddy, childish excitement.

OvO are one of those bands. Curiously infuriating yet dangerously exhilarating in their inability to be pigeon hold into genre or specific sound. Deftly navigating between noise rock, doom, extreme and blackened metal, industrial sludge and even electronica. “Decibel Magazine” have perhaps described them best by hailing the bands sound as “a David Lynch dance party”. Italy’s OvO, continue to rewrite the definition of what alternative music can be. Something which New Zealand audiences can look forward to seeing this October 2026."
