Tim Mahon (Blam Blam Blam) & Kerfuffle Announce Nationwide Tour
Core member of Blam Blam Blam, The Whizz Kids and The Plague, Tim Mahon is a pioneer of post-punk and alt-rock in Aotearoa New Zealand. Mahon's latest record The Great Kerfuffle, recorded naturally enough with bandmates Kerfuffle (featuring members of Ardijah, Newmatics and O.M.C) launched earlier this year, crammed full of barbed hooks and dance-punk mutant bops, reminding these ears at times of an Antipodean Pere Ubu or Public Image Limited — for example 'Vote' is sounding even more crucial today. Which is all a roundabout way of saying: you simply must catch this groundbreaking figure in local music (on many levels) and his top tier band touring nationwide this spring. Listen below and grab the vinyl LP edition of The Great Kerfuffle on the merch table at the following dates...

Press release:
Following the release of the single 'Vote' on May 11th, Tim Mahon unleashes his new album The Great Kerfuffle, and he'll be hitting the road with his band – also named The Great Kerfuffle.
Tim Mahon has a track record in multiple areas of Aotearoa music, and somehow he's also found the time to keep writing his own music. His first solo album Music From a Lightbulb from 2002, was cleverly released under the name The Moth.
As the former bass player of The Plague (1978-1979), The Whizz Kids (1979-1980), and Blam Blam Blam (1980-1982), he's been an integral part of these highly influential Aotearoa bands.
Behind the scenes, Mahon has also been involved with a number of initiatives which have had a long-lasting impact. He became the project manager at the Otara Music Arts Centre (OMAC) in 1987, where he got local band Bamboo signed to PolyGram, and to open the BB King/U2 show at Western Springs. Also Proud Music Compilation featuring Sisters Underground and O.M.C..
(In a nice piece of timing, Bamboo founding member Teina Benioni will be supporting Tim Mahon and Kerfuffle on their tour).
