Same Name Confusion Share New Album 'SNC' + Announce Release Shows

Already receiving overseas exposure via Bandcamp's sharp-eared editorial department, Same Name Confusion reemerge from their chrysalis like a vividly hued dance-punk butterfly. Sporting bracingly minimal, shocking pink cover artwork — surely a tip of the hat to Nick Hart? — Same Name Confusion embrace the pleasures of the dancefloor while busting out an overload of zig-zagging hooks on their new sophomore album SNC.

Based these days between Tāmaki Makaurau and Naarm, co-writers Luke Courtney and Andrej Radosavljevic cooked up SNC at their own speed by "bouncing demos back and forth", then tied it all together with contributions from full band and recording king James Goldsmith at The Surgery. The synergy feels real on Same Name Confusion's first new collection of tunes in five years. Riding an irresistible no wave / punk-funk groove on standout single 'What's the Winter Like in Istanbul?', Courtney's falsetto vocals dream of intercontinental connections, amidst an increasingly fidgety ruckus of post-DFA synth squiggles, scrappy guitars and perpetual motion percussion.

Same Name Confusion invite you to make shapes at Whammy Bar on 20th November and San Fran in Pōneke the next night, playing with five piece band as part of their trans-Tasman SNC album release tour.
