Quicksand (USA) Announce New Zealand Shows w/ Whores.

Giants of US post-hardcore and noise-rock, New York City's Quicksand have invited Atlanta, Georgia's Whores. to join them for an imminent return trip to Aotearoa New Zealand, forging an alliance at Double Whammy in Tāmaki Makaurau and San Fran in Te Whanganui-a-Tara this summer.

Touring their heavyweight new album Bring On the Psychics, Quicksand's sonically uncompromising, massively influential mid-'90s first era was credited by Decibel for "fusing equal parts Helmet staccato, Soundgarden sack and My Bloody Valentine dreampop into something entirely its own." Last here in 2022, Whores. will be back on our shores following the release of their first new long player in eight years, 2024's War, a suitably intense 10 track collection, praised by Everything Is Noise for "(proving) that time is just a construct and Whores. are forever."

New York post-hardcore legends QUICKSAND return to New Zealand in February 2027 for two shows across Auckland and Wellington, joined by Atlanta noise-rock heavyweights WHORES.

The tour follows the release of Quicksand’s new album Bring on the Psychics and their long-awaited return to New Zealand in 2023.

Formed in New York City in 1990, Quicksand emerged from the city’s hardcore scene before carving out a sound entirely their own. Landmark albums Slip and Manic Compression helped define their distinctive collision of crushing guitars, melody and atmosphere, influencing generations of alternative, post-hardcore and heavy music.

In 2027, Quicksand return with Bring on the Psychics, adding a new chapter to that catalogue alongside the songs that have made the band so enduring.

Joining Quicksand across both New Zealand shows are Atlanta noise-rock heavyweights WHORES. Known for punishing riffs, abrasive intensity and ferocious live shows, Whores. return Down Under for the first time since touring Australia and New Zealand in 2022.
