Weekly Round-Up: Friday 21st December

This is our last round-up for 2012, but not forever by the looks, and while we'll be giving our eyes a much needed respite from computer screens for the next couple of weeks we have lined up a bunch of great content to entertain you in our absence. Now though it's time to round-up the past weeks musical activities and what you can get up to gig wise this weekend.

After a quite one last week, there has been a flood of tour announcements this week, just today The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion were announced to return for two shows in March and UK electronic musician Gold Panda was announced to also be heading over in March. Other tour announcements this week included a Wellington date for Action Bronson, locals Anthonie Tonnon of Tono and The Finance Company announced January and February dates with She's So Rad, Lawrence Arabia is back in the country and playing Wellington in January, Kitty Daisy and Lewis return in April, Bouncing Souls in February  and Title Fight head our way for the first time in March. There's been a few changes announced for some upcoming shows also, both Band of Horses January shows have moved venues, Amanda Palmer has announced rescheduled dates for her postponed January tour and Elvis Costello has moved from Villa Maria Estate to The Civic Theatre.

In general music news, Yeah Yeah Yeahs confirmed the release of a new album next year via twitter, our favourite radio presenter Charlotte Ryan, host of the excellent Morning Glory show on 95bFM, announced on her show this morning that today was her last, she is off to Kiwi FM and Radio Live in the new year and finally, this morning we posted our end of year special feature with all our best bits of the 2012 from releases to live shows and everything in between.
