Live Photos: I'll Be Your Mirror Melbourne - My Bloody Valentine, Swans + More
Over the weekend we crossed the ditch for All Tomorrow's Parties' second outing in Australia and our first ATP experience. This time they threw one of their I'll Be Your Mirror festivals 13km out of Melbourne's CBD. Curated by themselves and seminal Australian band The Drones, we went to the first day curated by ATP with the recently reformed my bloody valentine headlining.
There was no doubt that mbv were the most anticipated act of the day but they didn't end up being our highlight. No for us that went to Swans - one of the most intense and menacing live acts we've ever seen. My Bloody Valentine's performance was a little perplexing, they appeared to suffer from a bad mix initially which left the crowd in a confused silence between songs - their set did improve as it progressed. Opening act Strangers From Now On made a lasting impression, it was great to catch locals The Dead C and HTRK were stunning.
