Brian Roettinger Confirmed As Speaker At Semi-Permanent Auckland
You may not be familiar with Brian Roettinger's name, but you will certainly recognise his work, which he will be in New Zealand to discuss at the Semi-Permanent creative conference, held at the Aotea Centre in Auckland at the end of May. Roettinger was the graphic designer behind the Grammy-nominated artwork for No Age's Nouns, the elaborate concept and execution of Liars' Sisterworld packaging and the abstract cover for Bloom, by Beach House, among a myriad other music-related projects.
For some insight into what makes Roettinger tick, have a read of his conversation about album cover art with Julian Gross (also an artist) from Liars here, as well as the video interview, below, in which Roettinger discusses starting his own record label.
