Weekly Round-Up: Friday 17th May

Friday 17th May, 2013 12:08PM

Australian festival Splendour in The Grass continued to prove fruitful for us this week with Unknown Mortal Orchestra announced to tour New Zealand in July on the back on the festival along with Passion Pit who announced one Auckland date.

In other tour news: Jello Biafra is returning at the end of the month for two spoken word dates and an down-under tour wrap party; LA producer TOKiMONSTA is heading our way for the first time in July for two shows; and Laneway Festival announced the lineup for it's new Detroit leg this week leading us to speculate on the possibilities for our festival next year.

In album release news: Franz Ferdinand have confirmed the release of a new album this year called Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action out late August; experimental duo Fuck Buttons announced the release of new album Soft Focus in July; The Dodo's announced the release of their fifth album Carrier and shared a new track; Queens of The Stone Age have been building anticipation for the release of their new album Like Clockwork with a series of graphic videos in collaboration with UK artist Boneface; and out today in New Zealand is Daft Punk's much hyped new album Random Access Memories and The National's new album Trouble Will Find Me.

Caught live
this week we have a very special video produced by us! Yes, as part of Music Month we are filming a specially curated series of Mum club nights at Cassette Nine in Auckland. The Ruby Suns headlined last Friday's show and here they are performing 'Tane Mahuta' ...
