Primate Announce New Zealand Shows

Friday 1st November, 2013 12:02PM
Atlanta grind punks Primate have announced two New Zealand shows in January. Fronted by Brutal Truth's Kevin Sharp and featuring Bill Kelliher from Mastodon on guitar, the band came together in 2010 self-releasing an EP which they followed up last year with debut full length Draw Back A Stump - available to stream in full at the Relapse Bandcamp.  Visiting New Zealand for the first time, here are the tour details...

Primate

Monday 20th January, Kings Arms Tavern, Auckland
Tuesday 21st January, Valhalla (currently Bar Medusa), Wellington

Tickets for both dates on sale now from HERE at UTR and in store via Real Groovy in Auckland and Slow Boat or RPM in Wellington.

Here's a hilarious lyric video for 'Prime' from Draw Back A Stump...

Press Release:

Just confirmed, US hardcore punk pirates, PRIMATE, featuring members of BRUTAL TRUTH and MASTODON, have locked down a Winter assault on the South Pacific this January, with a week-and-a-half of soiling venues across Japan, Australia and New Zealand now on their calendar. Watch in horror as the henchmen brutally dispatch their unhinged and malicious grindcore-infused auditory wrath upon these three nations.

The sound: Just think raw, hardcore brutality and a solid blend of "stoner grind meets Swedish/Japanese hardcore..."

The vision: Kicking ass and flinging poo....

PRIMATE are:
Kevin Sharp (Brutal Truth) - vocals
Mike Brennan - guitars
Bill Kelliher (Mastodon) - guitars
Dave Whitworth - bass/vocals
Shayne Huff - drums
