Newly formed Auckland band The Blue Bloods are sharing their fuzzy first single 'Methadone Queen'. The four-piece is led by menacing frontwoman Kim Swanson and includes seasoned musicians from local bands including The Drab Doo-Riffs and now defunct group The Hairdos. The band recorded the three-minute track in a friend's living room which has helped shaped a sleaze-punk sound without comprising elements of quality. Apparently it was penned by Swanson about a friend of hers back in 1996 and comes from a whole horde of material she has up her sleeve, so keep an ear out for future releases. In the meantime listen to 'Methadone Queen' below...
The Blue Bloods are playing with Cool Runnings on May 23rd at Edinburgh Castle in Auckland.
