Renee-Louise Carafice Returns Home For National Tour

Renee-Louise Carafice Returns Home For National Tour

Tuesday 27th May, 2014 2:34PM

Ex-pat Renee-Louise Carafice is leaving Nashville behind to perform in a string of shows around the country next month. The artist has been living in the States for the last couple of years, releasing music under her own label, Bird Army Records. Carafice rarely returns to New Zealand, but her latest release, Power Animals, is bringing her back for four dates. Power Animals originally saw life as a series of raw tracks recorded into the pinhole microphone of her computer, but during the festive season the musician set to work rebuilding the songs with the help of friend Daniel Tomczak. She says album is an anti-suicide note to herself, further explaining: "These songs say: I am alive, and perhaps being alive is more brutal than being dead." Here are the details of her tour...

Here's a recently released homemade video for 'I Have Some Problems'...

Renee-Louise Carafice lives in Nashville, Tennessee, where she releases her albums under her own record label, Bird Army Records. She rarely visits her home country, finding it riddled with memories of her strange past, instead choosing to release from her new home in America and tour on rare occasions.

The last time she travelled to New Zealand was to tour with Sufjan Stevens, and in June she will travel home again to tour her new album, POWER ANIMALS.

“This album is an anti-suicide note: love songs to myself and hate songs to the haters. These songs say: I am alive, and perhaps being alive is more brutal than being dead.”

Renee-Louise has been up every night until 3am practicing, you are going to be mindblown by her new live show, that's a threat and a promise.
