Raggamuffin Announces Move To Auckland + Headline Acts
The promoter of the Raggamuffin festival has announced it will shift from Rotorua to Auckland for the upcoming event in December. On the festival's Facebook page promoter Andrew McManus explains, "Rotorua has been a great home for Raggamuffin but in order to ensure the future of the festival, it was time for us to make a move." Along with the announcement, the first lot of headline acts for the eighth annual event have been revealed to be rapper Ice Cube along with UB40, featuring three original members: Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue. They will be joined by local acts Katchafire, Aaradhna, House of Shem and Tomorrow People. Other changes include making the festival into a one-day event that features two stages - a reggae one and an "urban" one - and the event will now be presented by hip hop label Dawn Raid. The second-line up is set to be announced in August along with more details on the venue.
