PRESS RELEASE:
Beastwars are excited to announce that they are joining forces with Windhand (Relapse Records, USA) for four New Zealand dates this October.
Due to huge demand, these shows have been added to the bands' Australian dates where they're co-headlining the annual Doomsday Festival.
Windhand's latest record 'Soma' was ranked third in Rolling Stone's 20 best heavy metal albums of 2013, but like Beastwars, Windhand are more than just metal. Described as the glorious misfit offspring of Black Sabbath and Nirvana; the band combine lumbering, monolithic doom with psychedelic, stoner rock led by the soaring vocals of Dorthia Cottrell.
Windhand has spent the better part of the year on the road playing all the best heavy rock festivals in Europe while Beastwars has been summoning songs in the studio for a new album. This is a unique opportunity to see world class doom on a local stage and is not to be missed.
