
Interview: King Brothers
The musical soulmates of local act DHDFD's is Nishinomiya City three-piece King Brothers. Earlier this year the two groups joined together in Japan for a bunch of shows, and now the King Bros are in New Zealand to kick off a summer tour with their Kiwi counterparts. We caught up with screaming guitarist Marya fresh off the plane to ask the quickest Seven Quick Questions ever...
Hi! Can you please tell us a little bit about your band?
We start from high school. We play hardcore blues. I like rock n roll.
How did you meet the DHDFD's and become friends?
First tour we stay Brown family house, now long life friends.
What’s the first music you heard that made you want to play rock ‘n’ roll?
Very difficult but I think the only thing in my life is rock n roll, so only thing I do. NISHINOMIYA!
What’s the rock ‘n’ roll scene like where you live in Nishinomiya?
No scene in Nishinomiya only King Brothers, but now I think maybe build little bit scene.
This isn’t your first time touring New Zealand. What do you like about playing here?
I like all the very strange bands. Many strange but very good I also like bbq and beach.
What have you been doing since King Brothers last came to New Zealand?
We play Japan very busy tour, also just got back from USA tour also play Goner Fest.
What are your plans for the New Year?
New Zealand for Christmas time with DHDFDS then go back to Japan January sometime for live shows.
