Preview Photos from 'A Movement' Book Series

Blink, the man behind A Low Hum, is sharing a sneak peek of the photos from his forthcoming book series being published under the umbrella title A Movement. The series, which was announced earlier this month along with details of an extensive launch tour, covers Blink's photographic work between 2000-2015. The Wellington-based promotor explains his photography project as something that evolved from his work managing bands in the early 2000s, a which time he launched A Low Hum music magazine. "I've been lucky enough to work with some amazing bands over the years and have watched, first-hand, a movement take place," he writes. "Post Internet, New Zealand experienced a surge of activity within the local music scene with bands reaching new expanded audiences at home and a large number of bands having a go overseas. I've been able to artistically document this renaissance and am excited about sharing mostly never-seen-before photos of great musical moments in New Zealand and around the world."

The books will be released as a set of ten A5 full-colour art books, together encompassing 1000 photos of 300 bands taken over the last 15 years both at home and abroad. Acts included in this epic photographic essay include The Mint Chicks, Jakob, Die! Die! Die!, The D4, The Datsuns, The Phoenix Foundation, Betchadupa, The Rock and Roll Machine, Shihad, Disasteradio, Over the Atlantic, So So Modern, Connan Mockasin, Degrees K, Batrider, Weta, Pluto, Goodshirt, Cut off Your Hands, The Coolies and more.

In anticipation of the books' release, which will officially take place on 16th March, Blink has shared a handpicked selection of photos from the series with UnderTheRadar. The shots are of artists who are taking part in the upcoming A Movement Tour and run the gamut of candid moments off stage, to musicians in the midst of full-fledged rocking out.
