Weekly Round Up: Friday 27th February

Friday 27th February, 2015 3:34PM

This week's tour news was a little light, but we did have the exciting announcement that sludge rockers Red Fang are embarking on a two-date tour of New Zealandwith Beastwars in May. Capital city grindcore fans were hyped to learn that Napalm Death and Carcass announced a second Wellington show in April after selling out the first. And Gorillaz Sound System is tipped to be heading this way for four shows in April.

In local release news, Auckland duo Carb on Carb are streaming their new self-titled album (which is also available for purchase) ahead of their upcoming overseas tour. Surf City unveiled their catchy new single 'Leave Your Worries' in anticipation of releasing their new album Jekyll Island next month. We were stoked to hear an (ultra-long) excerpt from the forthcoming album by Canadian post-rock collective Godspeed You! Black Emperor. It was also great to see a new video from Best Coast signalling the impending release of a new album.

This week's Caught Live is Father John Misty covering Leonard Cohen's 'Bird On The Wire' for The Strombo Show...
