Weekly Round Up: Friday 5th June

Friday 5th June, 2015 2:24PM

In this week's tour news we were delighted to announce the return of left-field producer Daedelus to New Zealand later this month. The California-based musician will be in the country for three shows, supporting the release of his most recent album, Light Brigade. Taonga puoro artist Rob Thorne and his musical comrades Charlotte Yates and Eva Gil Craig revealed they will be undertaking an extensive tour of the North Island throughout June, which kicks off next Wednesday in Wellington. Also hitting the road is Dunedin psych-folk musician Kane Strang, who has announced a series of shows off the back of releasing his full-length record Blue Cheese.

In release news, the legendary Lemmy-fronted rock band Motörhead have announced their 22nd studio album, Bad Magic, for release in late August. No singles have been released from the record, which coincides with the group's 40th anniversary, so stayed tuned for more on that front. We heard some new material from gothic songstress Chelsea Wolfe's upcoming album. Beirut shared the title-track from their forthcoming album No No No. In local news, Wellington outfit Moses unveiled their excellent debut single 'Opium' as they prepare to release their self-titled EP. Auckland misfits The Cavemen shared savage track 'Rides With The Reich' as they get ready to let loose their debut album. And in interesting collaboration news, Run The Jewels member EL-P let the cat out of the bag and revealed he has something brewing with Finn Andrews of NZ-born act The Veils.

This week's Caught Live is the hugely influential L7 performing ' I Need' at their first show in 14 years,  which was held at The Echo in Los Angeles...
