Fantasia X Negative Space - Presents: Electronic Dancing Music

For one time only, never seen before, the head honchos at Fantasia Corporation have decided to combine forces with esteemed Ōtepoti club collective Negative Space.

Featuring a combination of live and DJ acts such as:

Conceived in 2017 as a radio show, Negative Space rapidly expanded into a popular rave and club night. Inspired by the original rave ethos of the 90s, they strive to cultivate unique dance floor moments, focusing on underground methodologies and eschewing a formulaic approach to events. As promoters, they regularly bring acts from across Aotearoa to Ōtepoti, and hold a weekly radio residency every Thursday at 9pm on Radio One (stream via $\rightarrow$ r1.co.nz)

Fantasia is a four headed, two armed shadow corporation with unknown origins somewhere deep in Ōtautahi suburbia. It’s two arms Fantasia Corp (auditory division) and Fantasia AV (analog visuals division) work together to achieve a vision of immersing punters in retro rave aesthetics, complete with behemoth stacks of cathode-ray tube screens and projections.

They've hosted a string of genre-agnostic gigs at Flux in the year before it closed, featuring scene OGs and up and comers alike, all steeped in 90s and Y2K optimism. Fantasia’s last gig at the Underpass (in collaboration with Rinsed) featured two zones with over 15 DJs, which ended up pulling over 280 people to the Underpass. Prior to this, saw heavyweight junglist Fluid Haunts shell down to Ōtautahi alongside Spook, Texture & Tikka, in collaboration with 103 Soundsystem.
