Mel Parsons returns to Auckland for the first time since the release of her acclaimed debut record “Over My Shoulder” for a special show at the Montecristo Room.
“Over My Shoulder” recorded in Wellington under the guidance of ex-Mutton Birds guitarist and celebrated producer David Long (Fur Patrol, Dave Dobbyn) draws on a healthy array of kiwi musicians from core band the Rhythm Kings (Shaun Elley, Aaron Stewart, Ed Zuccollo, Neil Watson) to contributions from Don McGlashan and the Sami Sisters and has had Mel steadily swaying critics, industry and audiences alike.
“With an obvious ear for melody, and a distinctly local sound - Mel Parsons is one to watch, and certainly one to listen to....it\s a joy to listen to Parsons\ songs.”
Matthew Crawley, Cheese on Toast
Parsons is travelling with double bassist Aaron Stewart and guitarist Neil Watson, and will be joined by special guest Simon Comber.
