Artisan Guns have battled giant inflatable ducks and ‘Day of the Triffid’-esque toilet paper flags to bring you Hearts, their biggest, best and weirdest offering to date. What’s the one thing these four strange and handsome boys need to bring with them when they roll into a town near you' A hot blonde fashionista of course, so Lisa Crawley and her band The Conversations are packing up their saxophones and melody horns and joining the tour. Don’t miss these two quirky, cool and unforgettable bands.
“Hearts” is the second EP from Auckland-based quartet Artisan Guns, recorded at the studios of New Zealand music legend Dave Dobbyn. Their debut EP “Bird & Bone” was well received, and debut single “Autumn”, with its memorable accompanying video, received considerable play on the bNet radio stations, Triple J in Australia, and New Zealand music TV stations C4 and Juice TV. Teaming up with producer/engineer extraordinaire Dave Parker for the second time, “Hearts” is both the sound of a band stepping out of its comfort zone, and the sound of a band who is comfortable and confident about where they are. On “Hearts”, the band tip their hats to the folk sounds of their first EP, but have evolved into something stranger. Pop hooks are contrasted by loud, brash walls of sound. Matthew Hope’s lyrics are as thoughtful, insightful and genuine as ever.
