Happening 45 minutes North of Auckland in the lush surrounds of Matakana Music Mountain, the Tuborg Summer Sunday Festival will bring together the best of Aotearoa’s music and nature to create a truly inspired summer celebration on Sunday 29th January, Auckland Anniversary Weekend 2012.
Boasting one of the most epic line-ups on the festival calendar, Summer Sunday will feature eight superb homegrown bands including:
Kora, Fly My Pretties, Little Bushman, Tahuna Breaks, The Nudge, Electric Wire Hustle, AHoriBuzz and @Peace
Set to perform their only show outside of their November 2011 tour, Fly My Pretties will be bringing the full 16-piece cast and flash new visual backdrop while Kora and Tahuna Breaks will treat festival-goers with new and unheard materiel off their highly anticipated soon to be released albums.
Expertly curated, the remaining mix of acts will see Little Bushman bring their symphonic cacophony of detailed sound; while burgeoning acts The Nudge, Electric Wire Hustle, AHoriBuzz and @Peace will show why they’ve all been tipped as the next wave of kiwi uber talent.
Sustainability is at the core of the festival's ethos and a Matakana coastal cleanup has been organized as part of the event. As an incentive, for every sack of trash you collect, you'll receive tokens for free Tuborg.
