Weekly Round Up: Friday 27th June

Weekly Round Up: Friday 27th June

Friday 27th June, 2014 2:08PM

After last week's hype surrounding the Nick Cave announcement, this week has been pretty quiet in terms of tour news, but we do have a couple of goodies up our sleeves. Classic rock mainstays Heart, Foreigner and Three Dog Night announced an impressive triple-bill show that will be making its way around three idyllic locations next January. And indie-rock five-piece Boy and Bear have planned two New Zealand shows this September following the release of their 2013 album Harlequin Dream. In other news, it looks certain that the Big Day Out will not be returning in 2015, but there are high hopes the show will go on in 2016, with outspoken Australian promoter AJ Maddah saying a lack of decent headliners is a key reason for the hiatus.

In other news, the incredible All Seeing Hand from Wellington have released new album Fog & Debris, which is a collection of outtakes from their first two records (listen here). Also from the capital city, dreampop trio Mermaidens are unveiling brand new EP titled O following on from EP Bones that came out in February. And Shihad have announced the impending arrival of ninth album FVEY with the release of single 'Think You're So Free', which has gained a mixed reception on social media. In overseas news, Radiohead drummer Philip Selway has revealed single 'Coming Up For Air' as he prepares to release his second solo record. Goth-pop group Esben and the Witch are poised to drop their Albini-produced record A New Nature in September following a successful PledgeMusic campaign to fund it. And finally, the follicley-inspired  Karen O of Yeah Yeah Yeahs is set to put out a solo album in September, aptly titled Crush Songs it centres around infatuations from her younger days.

This week's Caught Live is a sweet clip of Slint playing at Primavera Sound in Barcelona recently...
