Weekly Round Up: Friday 6th March

Friday 6th March, 2015 12:27PM

No exciting international tour announcements came our way this week, but there are a couple of good local tours on the brew. Auckland punk trio Caroles have hooked up with stoner-doom group Greenfog to undertake the 'Up In Smoke' joint tour, which will see them pass through eight towns for nine shows over April. Also kicking off that same month, Auckland-born death metal outfit Ulcerate have planned a four-date New Zealand tour that will take place across April and May.

In release news, Dunedin trio Death and the Maiden have announced a self-titled debut record to come out on Fishrider Records later this year, and have shared lead track 'War Dance'. Iconic Auckland act Xanadu have unleashed their new album '1999-2002', which is comprised of retrospective recordings from their heydey which will be supported by a short tour around New Zealand. American alt scene mainstay Violent Femmes have shared their first song in 15 years, which is apparently part of a EP in the works. And revivalist Pokey LaFarge (who is returning to these shores to tour later this month) has unveiled a new video for 'Something In The Water' from his upcoming album of the same name.

This week's Caught Live is straight from Westfest held in Auckland on Tuesday, and is some fan-shot footage of Judas Priest performing 'Turbo Lover'. Enjoy the video below and head over here for some photos from the one-day event...
