SOUND + LIGHT
KAIWHATU + MEDAL + SPECIAL GUESTS
21/03/26 @ L.A.F
7PM $20
Why not come join some local Ōhinehou weirdos at L.A.F for an exploration into sound + light?
Sat March 21st, 7pm at the Lyttelton Arts Factory brings together for a second time KAIWHATU + MEDAL to enchant, move, and delight their audience with a unique blend of sonic quirk and competence.
Utilising the superbly built theatre space at L.A.F, a combination of light, sound, and visuals will transport you into the amoebic-like state of the great ambiguous something, then gently return you to the boundaries of individuality a little more wobbly but somehow stronger.
Falling on this year’s autumn equinox, the show will be a container and ritual to honour the balance of light and dark (dress appropriately).
Special Guests TBA
Tickets $20

Weaving sonic spells through an array of sound + vision influenced by the weather, landscape, and people of Ōhinehou, Kaiwhatu is a working port of noise producing an experiential opening for the band and audience alike to let falsehoods fall away, revealing the spontaneity and vulnerability of the moment. Established in ’25, Kaiwhatu is gaining momentum and clarity of purpose in these turbulent and troubled times by enacting sound as medicine.
