Pop powerhouse Cassie Henderson is hitting the road in 2026, announcing The Lightning and the Stars a two-date New Zealand tour celebrating the wild, magical, and career-defining past three years of her journey.
Set to light up Christchurch and Auckland this April, The Lightning and the Stars is a tour for the fans, a high-energy, full-heart live show that brings together the moments that changed everything. From breakout singles to viral covers, sold-out stages to international spotlights, Henderson is pulling it all into two very special shows. Hitting James Hay Theatre, Christchurch on Saturday 18 April and Auckland’s Bruce Mason Centre on Thursday 23 April, tickets for both dates go on sale Monday 16 March at 12pm NZDT.
Over the past three years, Henderson has built serious momentum. In 2025 she reached the finals of The Voice Australia, earning a four-chair turn and capturing a wave of new global fans. Her cover of Teenage Dirtbag surged past 400,000 Spotify streams in its first month and debuted at #2 on the NZ Hot 20 Chart, before she pivoted confidently back to original music with her independent EP footnotes released on Christmas Day.
But for Kiwi audiences, the lightning struck earlier. Henderson first broke nationally with Whatever, which held #1 on New Zealand radio airplay for 12 consecutive weeks, the longest run by a New Zealand solo artist since Lorde. She followed it with Seconds to Midnight (11:59), which stayed at #1 for 15 consecutive weeks, earning her the 2025 Aotearoa Music Award for Best Pop Artist and cementing her status as one of the country’s most consistent chart forces.
A commanding live performer, Henderson has headlined nationwide tours, owned main-stage festival crowds, and supported international artists across Australia and New Zealand including Alex Warren, The Driver Era and Lauren Spencer -Smith. The Lightning and the Stars tour strips it back to what matters most: connection. Backed by her three-piece band, expect soaring vocals, rock-leaning energy, intimate storytelling, and the kind of cathartic singalongs that turn rooms electric.
With her trilogy project The Chronicles of a Heart Broken nearing completion with The Blue Chapter on the horizon, 2026 marks the beginning of her next era. But before she takes that leap, Cassie Henderson is bringing it back to where it all began.
