On the cusp of releasing her new EP, Your Favourite, Beth Torrance is set to hit the stage at Public Bar on July 1st with her band the Garden Party, completed by Ben Frisby (bass) and Finn McNeill (drums). They'll be joined by Blunt dog.
Beth Torrance's new single, Suzy May, delivers the indie-rock sound she's has been building towards. Her earlier songs land differently in the hands of the taut, transcendent power trio: bigger, wider, and with room to breathe.
Blunt dog met in Pōneke, recording their first album How is a Dog so Honest? in 3 nights late 2022. Since then the band members scattered throughout the long white cloud. Their meeting point is the confluence of lofi, slowcore, emo and folk - they are early cartographers of the mythic 'Aotearoa midwest'.
