Kittlesfest follows the same kaupapa as Dougfest, focusing on creating a safe space and bringing you a diverse range of raw talent and incredible stage presence:
Dόnal Gunning and his band The Bucks are influenced by punk, rock, and folk music. Together, Dόnal Gunning and The Bucks bring a fun, energetic, intangible charm to their shows to produce a powerhouse rock performance. Dόnal is in the process of rolling out singles from his upcoming debut album, including ‘Oven,’ on top of his sophomore EP ‘Zero Bucks Given.’
Lucy Dibble is new to the scene and is already making an immediate impact, wowing the crowd at Dougfest 3 and Dougfest’s Emo Night, while also recording an incredible Flamingo Session. Lucy’s latest single ‘Better Half’ has left her rapidly-increasing fan base craving for more. Influenced by pop-punk, Lucy’s stunning vocals and her band deliver an amazing live show that is not to be missed!
Lazy Suzan are a nu-emo alt-rock band quickly becoming an underground staple in Pōneke with their mix of scream-along anthems and chaotic, theatrical live show energy. Fusing all the elements of high-energy 90’s and 00’s emo, pop-punk, nu-metal, and alt-rock, they blend genres into their own catchy original tunes. With a growing cult following, they are one of Aotearoa’s most exciting live acts.
Curlys Jewels are a high-energy hard-rock band that are underpinned by a formidable vocal range, crunching guitar riffs, and thunderous drum and bass. Curlys Jewels deliver massive, hook-laden songs that translate into explosive, unforgettable live performances. Curlys Jewels have cemented themselves as one of New Zealand’s most exciting rock bands, with their acclaimed self-titled album reaching number 5 on the Official New Zealand Top 40 Album Chart. They have also received significant airplay across New Zealand’s leading rock radio stations
Kittlesfest will be hosted by Slippery Slim, who will be sure to keep the crowd entertained between sets.

“For years, I’ve been in awe of the local scene across Aotearoa.
When I attended Dougfest 3, I was inspired. I wanted to give something back to the scene that has given me so many memories, so I messaged Doug with an idea and to ask for his blessing to name my event Kittlesfest.
I’m incredibly proud that Kittlesfest is going to be presented under the legendary umbrella of events that Dougfest have provided to the community, and that we have teamed up to showcase some amazing music.
