Have you got a bit of a headache? Are you hoping to listen to the words of the songs you're hearing at the gig? I would recommend coming along to 'A Night of Good Folk'. It's a night not just for good folk music. It's a night for good people who want to come together and celebrate the quieter music of Christchurch.
Julian Turver loves Bruce Springsteen. He's got the butterscotch blonde telecaster to prove it. After years of writing more songs than he knows what to do with, he's figured out what to do with them. Play them! Alongside Eden Nuttall on keys and Kyle Hsieh on drums, the trio will be performing never-before-heard songs by Julian about love, death (not robots) and the pros and cons of facial hair.
Kaitlyn Rodley is an indie-acoustic-christian-artist as per her Instagram bio. But she is also much more than that. She's made a name for herself and performed all over New Zealand, gifting others with the beautiful way in which she sees our world. On August 7th, she will be accompanied by Moby George and they will leave you believing in something greater than yourself.
Hunter Craig is a staple at Darkroom. With a new single Chase the Wind, he's made a name for himself as the drummer of legendary Otautahi band 'Too Woke for Toast' and is now successfully infiltrating the folk scene. With a voice like Elliott Smith, and hair to make your favourite rockstar jealous, he'll be giving you everything you need and more with nothing but a guitar and a mic.
