Skonk are hopping over the Kaimai Ranges from their local pond of Tauranga to play at Kirikiriroas finest venue come burger joint, Last Place!
We’ve been to a fair few shows at ole lasty over the past year, and we’re excited to finally have the opportunity to blast our psychedelic blend of goth and punk “music” into the unsuspecting (or somewhat suspecting if you’ve read the gig write up) ears of citizens of the bog formally known as the mighty Waikato.
Joining us on this intrepid journey are local tadpoles who fancy themselves rather noisy and quite rocky… Mooring. “Tadpoles” might seem slightly dismissive based on the collective experience of the members of this super group but it fits within my frog based analogy, so we’re gonna roll with it. It fits so well in fact, that it leads us onto our next support band quite nicely.
Moorings bassist Wai sprouted legs and formed yet another band in a long list of projects. These toads call themselves Scene Beef. They’ll be sure to wow you with their loudness, fastness and relentlessness noisyness as they tear up the Last Place stage.
So don’t let me find you catching flies come August 22nd. Grab a ticket, a burger and pull up a lily pad for a night you won’t soon forget.
